Management Asbestos Survey (MAS)

A MAS is the standard asbestos survey. Its purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect asbestos containing materials (ACM’s) in a building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and installation, and to assess its’ condition.

Refurbishment & Demolition Asbestos Survey (RDAS)

A RDAS is needed before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out. This type of asbestos survey is used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs in the area where the refurbishment work will take place or in the whole building if demolition is planned. The asbestos survey will be fully intrusive and may involve destructive inspection to gain access. A RDAS may also be required in other circumstances, e.g. when more intrusive maintenance and repair work will be carried out or for plant removal or dismantling.

Due Diligence Asbestos Survey (DDAS)

DDAS (default presumption) A pre-acquisition asbestos survey is an important part of the due diligence process, helping you to make an informed decision before purchasing or investing in a property. It is one of the best ways for a potential buyer or investor to get information on the likely presence of asbestos in a property, which is likely to affect the future use of the property. The survey is a non-intrusive walk through visual inspection along with a desk-top survey of any available historical documentation relating to the construction history and maintenance of the property. About Safety Limited are committed to producing client-specific policies and management plans with detailed procedures that ensure asbestos is managed in accordance with the regulations. These include:

  • Preparation of asbestos removal specifications
  • Preparation of site-specific management plans
  • Preparation of Tender documentation
  • Project Management
  • Preparation and maintenance of Asbestos Registers and Asbestos Management Plans.
